Our stairs here in Philly are insanely steep and wooden, so Oliver hasn't had much opportunity to try ascending the stairs. As soon as he saw the nice carpeted ones in Wolfeboro, he climbed straight to the top. 
We couldn't keep him away from them the entire trip!
